Donations to The Friendship Room

November 18, 2015

Thanks to Alexandra Henderson for writing this guest blog post explaining a little more about The Friendship Room, one of Veeda's charitable partners. Veeda recently donated a few cases of tampons to The Friendship Room so they could make mini kits to give to women in need of feminine hygiene supplies.

Hello! My name is Alexandra Henderson, I am a Junior at West Virginia University and this entire semester I have been interning for the Friendship Room in Morgantown. The Friendship Room is a drop-in center operated by Mental Health America of Monongalia County. The Friendship Room provides amazing resources for individuals in Morgantown experiencing mental illnesses and/or homelessness. One amazing resource that the Friendship Room offers is safe hygiene products such as condoms and other necessities for people who otherwise might not be able to obtain them. Not only does the Friendship Room provide these necessities but it also provides free breakfast daily from 8:30 to 10 am, access to computers and a telephone, and friends to talk to when you just need someone to listen. The donation from Veeda will help us immensely by giving us the funds to help our guests and provide these resources that they need. Any donation helps and the donation from Veeda is greatly appreciated by those of us at the Friendship Room.
